This is a premium-quality, thick-slice opal doublet, giving the appearance of a solid black opal at a fraction of the price. 💚✨️ With proper care, opal doublets can last a lifetime. Unlike Ethiopian hydrophane opals, they **do not lose their color** when exposed to water, although prolonged immersion may affect their brilliance.

Opal doublets are created by bonding a layer of precious opal to natural black potch, enhancing the color and offering the beauty of a black opal at around one-tenth the price of a solid stone.
