Jewelry Care Guide
With mindful care, your jewelry will retain its beauty and luminous elegance for years to come.
Opal Jewelry Care
Australian opals do not lose their color in water, so there is no need to worry about water-related color loss. However, natural gemstones are delicate and should always be handled with care.
Opals are precious and relatively softer gemstones that require mindful care. Avoid hard impact, pressure, and rough handling to help prevent scratching, cracking, or crazing. Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat or cold, as sudden temperature changes may affect the stone internally.
General Jewelry Care
- Natural gemstones can scratch, crack, or break upon hard impact or accidental dropping. Please handle all jewelry gently.
- Avoid exposing jewelry to extreme heat or sudden temperature changes, as this may damage certain gemstones.
- Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, exercising, sleeping, or heavy activities.
- Avoid perfumes, lotions, chlorine, harsh chemicals, and household cleaners while wearing jewelry.
- Clean gently using a soft, dry, lint-free cloth only. Do not use ultrasonic cleaners or steam cleaning.
- Store jewelry separately in a soft pouch or airtight jewelry box to help protect gemstones and minimize silver tarnishing.
- Sterling silver may naturally darken over time. A silver polishing cloth may be used for gentle polishing.
Iolite Jewelry Care
Iolite gemstones may contain natural internal inclusions or feathering, which can make them more vulnerable to breaking upon hard impact.
Avoid dropping iolite jewelry or exposing it to pressure, rough wear, or hard surfaces. Store iolite pieces separately to help prevent scratches and accidental damage.
Sunstone Jewelry Care
Sunstones are natural gemstones that may contain inclusions or internal characteristics formed during their natural creation.
Avoid hard impact or accidental dropping, as sunstones may crack or chip under pressure. Clean gently and store separately from harder jewelry pieces to help preserve the gemstone's surface and shine.
