Only 1 leftHi, welcome 💚
A black opal pendant for the queen who shines 🧚♀️✨️
This magical Australian Lightning Ridge gem-grade opal doublet pendant is handcrafted in 925 sterling silver. It features a statement-size opal with brilliant neon green and blue flashes that instantly catch the eye. 💚💙✨️ It is bright indoors in dull lighting too! ✨️
The opal is incredibly vivid, matching the hues and brightness of my solid black opals. 😍🩵 Flashes this vibrant are rare in both solid opals and doublets!
This is a premium-quality, thick-slice opal doublet, making its appearance remarkably close to a solid opal, in fraction* of the price! 💚✨️ With only a few considerations, opal doublets last a lifetime! *It doesn't loose its color on touching water like Ethiopian opals!* but long-term immersion in water can change its brighteness!
Opal doublets consist of a thin layer of precious opal bonded to black potch, which enhances the color and offers the beauty of a black opal at around one-tenth the price of a solid opal.
***Their only special care requirement is to avoid *immersion* in water.
The protective bezel* setting fully covers the back, helping prevent water from reaching the joint between the opal and its black backing, which causes a foggy appearance!! That's why doublets are used for jewels that don't see water too often!
The bail opening is 3.5mm! This can be attached in a pendant bail or larger ring, however you like! Heart and round shape connectors are also available ✨️
The sterling silver has been rhodium plated to preserve its shine and luster. It can be purchased with or without a 925 silver chain. Please message me if you'd like to add a chain—I offer simple sterling silver chains, this gorgeous sequin-style disc chain, and natural emerald bead strands. 💚💚✨️
Australian opals are world-famous for their exceptional beauty and color stability. Unlike hydrophane Ethiopian opals, they do not lose their color when exposed to water or perspiration, making Australian opals among the rarest and most valuable gemstones in the world.
This pendant is completely handmade with many hours of love and care. I cut the opal from rough material sourced from Lightning Ridge, Australia.
The opals are first photographed under a flashlight to show their brightest play-of-color, similar to how they appear in sunlight. They are also filmed indoors without sunlight or flash. Opals are incredibly difficult to photograph, and I can assure you they look even more beautiful in person.
CARE;
To keep it beautiful for a lifetime, please do not immerse it in water. Remove it before swimming, bathing, or exercising to prevent moisture from seeping between the opal and its backing.
With proper care, opal doublets can last a lifetime. ✨
