I cut the heart-shaped opal from rough stone material sourced from Lightning Ridge, Australia. This particular pendant was made by hand from start to end! set in a 9k gold bezel & loop. protected by a back-plate of 925 silver! The opals are first photographed under a flashlight to show the best color they can display, similar to how they appear in sunlight. They are also filmed indoors without sunlight or flash. It is very difficult to capture the play of fire in opals. I can assure you they look even better in person than in the listing photos. The crystal is itself a black opal, but we have darkened the back of the setting & opal for additional vividness of color, as crystals reflect the fire best over a dark background! Which makes it look like a 3000$ worth black opal! The price for the piece has been set by its original color; the crystal has no dark backing! The closed-back bezel secures the opal, so there's no worry about the color ever decreasing! This helps to score a stunning piece at a more affordable price!
